Dr. Laurie Arnswald, DNP, RN, PMHCNS-BC, is a licensed nurse practitioner, board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. Dr. Arnswald provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management and psychotherapy for adults with mental health problems. Dr. Arnswald works with adults who are at risk for developing or who have common, acute or chronic persistent mental health problems, illnesses or crises. With a particular interest in health promotion counseling, Dr. Arnswald works with individuals who wish to maximize control over their health and chronic disease management through the use of healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Dr. Arnswald incorporates the biological, psychological, social and spiritual elements of mental health care in her approach. Using advanced clinical judgment and practice, each patient's plan of care is personalized to their unique circumstances and needs using an integrative approach in evaluating impacting factors. Dr. Arnswald also holds a tenured faculty position in the nursing department at Grand Rapids Community College.
