Rev. Ron Nydam has a special interest in the area of relinquishment and adoption.

He is the author of Adoptees Come of Age, a book that examines the challenges in adoptive development that come with the experience of relinquishment, of losing one's first parents.
His practice of pastoral psychotherapy includes relinquished and adopted adults as well as adoptive parents who want to better understand their children. Ron also serves as Professor of Pastoral Care at Calvin Theological Seminary where he teaches basic pastoral care and counseling.

Mark Hinshaw MD

A full-time faculty member of the MSU Department of Psychiatry for 18 years, Dr. Hinshaw came to Grand Rapids in 1972. He developed the medical student clerkship in psychiatry, helped to establish MSU residency programs in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry and was the Assistant Chair of the Department of Psychiatry for the Grand Rapids campus. Dr. Hinshaw also established and directed Psychiatric Consultation Services, an innovative interdisciplinary mental health team of 30 professionals that served as a model teaching practice for medical students and residents from 1976 to 1998. He has served as an examiner and senior examiner on psychiatric board exams throughout the country. Having been selected by his peers as a “Best Doctor” since the recognition began in 1996, Dr. Hinshaw has been in the private practice of adult, child and adolescent and forensic psychiatry at Psychology Associates since 1998.
