Most people enter therapy due to a sense of distress and are longing for something to change. They may even know exactly how they want their lives to change. But as they try to change they often end up encountering barriers that seem overwhelming. Dr. Gruppen values joining clients in this place. Helping them to explore and unpack the complexity around these barriers and to identify patterns, narratives and behavioral responses that end up leaving them feeling so stuck. She pulls from a wide variety of therapeutic approaches while operating from an emotion focused, relationally psychodynamic and trauma informed foundation.
